Bathroom Electrical Code

• One 20-amp dedicated bathroom-receptacle circuit (can serve multiple bathrooms if it serves *only* bathroom outlets)
• General lighting on a separate circuit
• Bath fan wiring — often on the lighting circuit, sometimes dedicated

At least one GFCI-protected outlet within 3 feet of each sink. All bathroom outlets must be GFCI. AFCI protection is also required under current CA code.

Only listed wet-location or damp-location fixtures within the tub/shower zone. No standard outlets or switches within reach of the tub.
